Eligibility
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. The applicant is required to have a personal interview with personnel prior to acceptance by the college.

Enrollment Items Needed
An applicant for enrollment may be made any day the school is open,
two passport photos, copy of AZ Driver's License, copy of Social Security Card, and copy of High School Diploma or GED.

Academic Calendar
Hollywood Barber College operates continuously throughout the year on a five day a week basis and offers courses of instruction in barbering leading to a license. A diploma will be awarded upon college graduation.

Full-time schedule is a full 40 hours per week and students have up to 13 months to complete.
Part-time schedule is 25-30 hours per week and students have up to 15 months to complete.

Hours
Tuesday - Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday* 8am to 4pm
*Saturdays are mandatory for all students unless circumstances warrant.

The following holidays are observed:

Students are expected to maintain an accumulative attendance average of 80%. Failure to do so will result in placement of a probationary period of 45 days. If, after the probationary period the attendance is not satisfactory, the student will be suspended. To re-enroll, the student must meet the 80% attendance requirements thereafter or be terminated.

A master record of attendance is maintained for each student and is available to the student and authorized agencies.

Monitor Duties
The State Board of Barbers requires that a student perform a monitor

duty for a minimum of 15 minutes each day. Students will be expected to complete the assignment regardless of arrival or departure time. This will be the same as required in a salon atmosphere. Students are required to maintain their own personal work areas by keeping them in a clean and disinfected condition. Periodic inspections by tyhe State Board will be made to check these conditions.

Grading System
......A = 93 to 100
......B = 82 to 92
......C = 75 to 81

A grade average of not less than 75 must be maintained. Instructors will endeavor to assist slower students so that grades may be improved. If the grade average is not maintained for three months, the student may be suspended. If student is permitted to re-enroll, the grade average must be maintained thereafter or student may be terminated.

Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is expected of all students. The school must be notified by phone no later than 8:10 am on the first day of absence. Reason for absince must be stated. If absence is due to illness of self or family member, or is longer than three days, reasonable proof of illness must be furnished.
